Time Is On My Mind

I look back on my life
Filtered through the curtains of time

Some memories sharp
Like the sunbeams slanting through the roof

So much light and shadow
That defines who I am today

Youth sees time as infinite
Age tells you it is too precious to squander on regrets

Going Back To My Roots-Revisiting The Lensbaby Muse

THE HARSH FLORIDA WINTER

THE SNOWBIRDS HAVE FLOWN THE COOP?

WHAT LIES BENEATH THE MYSTERIOUS GREEN SURFACE?

A TRAIL OF DREAMS
My love affair with Lensbaby Optics began with an earlier version Lensbaby Muse before I moved the my current Lensbaby Composer, Composer Pro and Scout. Today I returned to those roots when I borrowed Doug’s spiffy new Muse for the afternoon’s shoot.
We made a brief trip to Stump Pass Beach State Park and then for a bit of a walk at Lemon Bay Park-both located in Englewood, Florida.
I brought the Composer Pro in case the Muse and I did not play well together but I ended up having a blast with the Muse and we bonded once again. The beauty of it is that it forces you to dump all other thoughts and to focus entirely on what you see and to spotlight the sweet spot of focus on the area where you wish to draw the eye. Considering that you have one finger on the metering button, one ready for the shutter and the rest manipulating the bendy little lens that looks like the cousin to a vacuum cleaner hose it is hard to worry about deadlines and solving the world’s problems. I felt like a spider weaving a web as my fingers did the Lensbaby Muse dance!
I think I may have to put a Lensbaby Muse on my wish list so that I’m not borrowing Doug’s all of the time now!
2012 has gone by in a blur-so what better way to spend the final day before 2013 shooting with a lens that embraces the blur!
